SIP Applications Directory

The directory lists the ways people use SIP based VoIP to expand their communication options. A relatively large base of SIP end points exists between Skype (uses SIP to access telephone network), Cable VoIP (uses SIP inside network), Vonage (SIP at end points), SIP telephone network access plays like VoIP Buster, and pure play SIP providers like FWD. The respective user bases remain fragmented as there exists (as yet) no unified approach to addressing. The ability of users to access the listed SIP applications depends on the policy of the provider. FWD operates an open network (will interconnect with any service provider) and uses six digit numbers. Many SIP providers have relatively closed interconnection policies leaving the telephone network as the peering platform of last resort.
